The Big Game

This is designed to broaden their adjective vocabulary.  Have your class sit in a circle; the teach them the following clapping sequence:

slap, slap (on knees)

clap, clap

snap, snap. (with fingers)

clap, clap

To begin the game, have the first student in the circle name a noun; then have the class start the clapping sequence.  Starting with the person to the left of the first child, have each student add an adjective to the noun before the clapping sequence ends, FOR EXAMPLE, the noun "cat," students could respond "fat Cat," etc.  If a player fails to come up with an adjective, then she/he is out.  Play continues with the next student giving a new noun.  Challenge the students not to repeat any adjectives.  When on player is left, start a new game.
