Coat of Arms
Submitted by: Sara Lindsey
This activity allows the students to express their values to the class, and allows the teacher to learn a little more about them.
You will need:
A3 sized card (or thick paper) for each student, crayons, marker pens, chalk (for initial layout), rulers and scissors
Show the students a coat-of-arms and explain how they 'stand for' families (or organizations). Tell them they need to think of four things which might represent them. These four things are to be placed in one quarter of a shield, and the students then add a motto underneath.
When finished, the students talk about their shield before putting it up on the wall.
