Week 16

A Good Substitute

    When your teacher is ill or has to be out of the classroom, a substitute is called in to take your teacher's place.  Some subs are very good.  Why?  What is it that makes a substitute teacher a good sub? I am sure that you, the students, know what it takes.  You know what makes for a good teacher, whether it is the regular teacher or a substitute.

    Write one paragraph describing what a good substitute does, or what s/he is like.  What do they need to do to be successful? 

Remember!

    You are working on sentences that are interesting.  You are not to be happy with 3rd grade or 4th grade simple sentences.  Support your ideas with reasons of how or why they work.
