The Sturdiest Journal
Choice

I've found that what makes the best journals are marble, composition books. Because the pages are usually sewn, students are less likely to pull paper out for other uses. I allow my students to really personalize their journals by decorating the covers. Many have used pictures, glued on coins, even fabric to make their journals original. Students write in their journals in class once a week. Also, they can earn extra credit by continuing their writing at home. At the end of the year, many students use their journal as a keepsake.
